Imagination is like the batter on deck thinking about what he might do at the plate. He could bunt or hit a home run. Or, he could be thinking about something else entirely, like chicken pot pie. Imagination is the internal process of generating ideas.

“Creativity is the batter at the plate trying to implement his idea in front of the world”

Creativity is the batter at the plate trying to implement his idea in front of the world.  There are two arbitrary white foul lines in baseball—if his hit falls outside of those lines, it’s not useful.  Creativity is a designation from others that your idea has utility, originality or value.

“Effective ideas come from those who see the world with an open and inquiring mind.”

The question is not “Are you creative?” You are. The question is “Are you channeling your imagination to achieve your goals?” Effective ideas come from those who see the world with an open and inquiring mind.
